The media contents areprovided by a UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) media server like theFRITZ!Box, XBMC, Plex or the Windows 7 operating system.If a network television or home theatre system is integrated in thehome network, use the Android device to select the desired devicefor playback. So it is convenient to listen to music or watchvideos, pictures stored on one of the hard drives using yourtelevision or home theatre system. Devices with network support aredesignated as part of the "Digital Living Network Alliance" (DLNA),a standard that allows for the exchange of data between computers,consumer electronics, mobile communications and other electronicequipment in the network. Further devices can be WiFi-Speakers orPC system with appropriated software.
FRITZ!App Cam
With FRITZ!App Cam your Android smartphone (ortablet) at home becomes a webcam. FRITZ!App Cam controls the cameraof the smartphone/tablet and provides the recorded images over httpor https for viewing in a browser anywhere with an Internetconnection. No special plug-ins or software is needed. The appconnects to the FRITZ!Box over wireless LAN. Within the homenetwork FRITZ!App Cam presents an IP address and the port, both ofwhich can simply be entered in the address line of the browser. Foraccess over the Internet, upon request FRITZ!App Cam automaticallyconfigures MyFRITZ! sharing so that access is as simple as openingthe https://www.myfritz.net portal or using the directMy-FRITZ!-URL of your FRITZ!Box (for this the FRITZ!Box must beregistered with MyFRITZ!). Access to the cameral image can beprotected with a password. With FRITZ!App WLAN you can keep an eye onyour wireless network at all times. Use the FRITZ!App WLAN for aneasy connection from your Android smartphone or tablet to thewireless LAN of your FRITZ!Box or any other WLAN router. TheFRITZ!App WLAN also provides you with useful details about theexisting wireless connection. This issimple with the new FRITZ!App Ticker widget for the FRITZ!Box.How the FRITZ!App Ticker widget works:Just place FRITZ!App Ticker on a start screen of your Androidtablet by pressing on a free space on the Android start screen andselecting FRITZ!App Ticker from the widgets. Make sure that thespace selected is large enough to display the widget. From now onFRITZ!App Ticker the start screen will show the last calls youmissed to your FRITZ!Box.Calls missed today are displayed in bold font. Meters show youthe number of corresponding calls, as well as the number of callspicked up by the answering machine. You can return the callsdirectly from the call list or the telephone book. Click the "Box"button in the browser to access the FRITZ!Box user interface fromyour smartphone.In Android 3.x/4.x you can scroll through the call list directlyin the widget; with Android 3.1 or higher you can also change theheight of the widget display.The list of calls is automatically refreshed in the background.To spare the battery of your Android device, the list is notrefreshed during standby operation.
